Tanglewood Elementary School Garden

Did you know Tanglewood has its very own garden and greenhouse?

Established in 2015 with a grant written by Ms. Meredith Hicks and money donated through the Central Bloomers, the garden contains a variety of plants including sunflowers, lemon trees, butterfly-friendly plants, and much more. Students help with the weekly weeding and watering. They have planted carrots and beans and will have the opportunity to harvest them at the end of their school year. First-grade students enjoyed the release of their classroom-grown butterflies into the garden. The students have also used the greenhouse to grow and maintain their plants throughout winter. Mrs. Ricketts' class has also helped with planting and conservation of the garden as well as utilizing the greenhouse.
